I was going through some boxes in storage and happened upon a collection of football cards and stickers from the 1970s. I pulled out these stickers that I hadn’t looked through in ages, and had forgotten that wherever or whenever I got them – in a trade with some other kid, I believe – that a bunch of them had been drawn on, with goofy mustaches and beards added to the players.
I’m not sure what year these are from, and I don’t know if the original stickers would be valuable or not, but certainly the inked-up versions I have here have lost any value from a sports memorabilia perspective … but they’re pretty humorous as little art works.
Above, from left, I have: Tommy Mason of the Washington Redskins with a fu-manchu style mustache; Pete Breathard from the St. Louis Cardinals with a handlebar mustache; and Jim Lynch from the Kansas City Chiefs with an interesting half-mustache-and-beard combo.
Below I’ve got some big name stars, all messed up courtesy of some kid with a ballpoint pen: Clockwise, from top left: Bart Starr from the Green Bay Packers, O.J. Simpson from the Buffalo Bills, Billy Kilmer from the Washington Redskins, and Johnny Unitas from the Baltimore Colts.

If you recognize these NFL stickers and can fill me in on the year or company (Topps? Or other?), please share your info in the comments section below.
