On my recent day trip to Peekskill, NY, I was walking down Main Street when I noticed this building on the corner of N. Division Street and Main Street with the sign that says “Busy Corner.” I thought “that’s pretty funny, someone decided to declare this a busy corner.” Busy with what?
It turns out that “Busy Corner” is the name given to that particular building, which consists of street level commercial spaces with addresses 100, 106, 108, 110, 114, and 116 N. Division Street, as well as the new condo apartments above it. A little further research finds that it was once the “Busy Corner Drug Store,” with a vintage photo found below from the late 1950s:
I saw somewhere that this building was vacant and unused for many years, let’s hope it becomes a “busy corner” again.
