{"id":1491,"date":"2024-01-19T03:06:36","date_gmt":"2024-01-19T03:06:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/manzodakota.com\/?p=265"},"modified":"2026-06-29T19:51:35","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T19:51:35","slug":"bicentennial-style-making-a-comeback","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mckinneyarts.com\/blog\/bicentennial-style-making-a-comeback\/","title":{"rendered":"Bicentennial Style, making a comeback?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There was a story in the NY Times recently about Millennials who are embracing Bicentennial style, which I found kind of funny considering that the general birth date range for Millenials is usually considered between 1981 and 1996, so they didn&#8217;t even experience the Bicentennial firsthand.<\/p>\n<p>Coming from my perspective as a Gen X&#8217;er, this article made me look back at pictures of my childhood bedroom, circa 1976, and as you can see in the pictures here, I had some pretty serious Bicentennial wallpaper, with Revolutionary War figures and the slogan &#8220;America Freedom.&#8221; On a side note, that Hank Aaron poster was also from the 1970s, commemorating him breaking Babe Ruth&#8217;s home run record in 1974.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s another look at details of the Bicentennial wallpaper:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_267\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-267\" style=\"width: 898px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mckinneyarts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/revolutionary-war-wallpaper.jpg\" alt=\"Details of my Revolutionary War wallpaper from the Bicentennial in 1976.\" width=\"908\" height=\"700\" class=\"size-full wp-image-267\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-267\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Details of my Revolutionary War wallpaper from the Bicentennial in 1976.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>While this next picture doesn&#8217;t relate to Bicentennial home decor, it captures of a glimpse of Bicentennial fever as evidenced in 1976.
