I’m certainly familiar with a lot of the Lego kits that have come out over the years, with my kids enjoying Star Wars Legos, Harry Potter Legos, and much more. But a recent trip to Costco found this new Lego kit: a Robert Indiana “Love” art sculpture set. Based on the famous and iconic sculpture first made by Indiana, in fact the image was originally designed by the artist in the form of a (2-dimensional) greeting card in 1964, which he sent out to a number of friends. He later made a series of oil on canvas paintings of the image, and in 1966, he made his first aluminum sculpture featuring these four letters, with a stacked “L” and “O” on top of “V” and “E.” There are a number of these sculptures, including one in New York City (which I can’t find my picture of it), as well as this one below as seen in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
