Reflecting on an Egret in Minnesota

I was visiting my Mom in Minnesota, sitting out on a deck overlooking a pond behind her apartment complex, when we noticed this bird off in the distance. Neither one of us knew right off the top of our head what it was, but a quick image search told us it was an egret, which is a type of heron. And from what I understand, all egrets are herons, but not all herons are egrets.

At any rate, the egret later moved into what must have been a shallow area of the pond, as it was standing in the water, but it was the reflections on the water that grabbed my attention. Below are four photos I took of the egret with the mirrored reflection in the water – maybe I’ll try turning one of these into a painting …? We’ll see, I do like them as straight photos too.
